I just recently upgraded Acronis Enterprise to a newer release.  I uninstalled the software first (Group Server, Management Console, and main package).  After uninstalling, I rebooted, installed the new version and proceeded to remove the Acronis Remote Agent from all the servers I’m backing up and upgrading them.

A few things I ran into while undergoing this process:

1)  RemoteAgent upgrade authentication failures with error 1326 and 1345

Acronis forums were no help as they just wanted screenshots and logs, and well, it’s 3AM EST so I figured that was a dead end.

I discovered that if I scheduled the full system backup instead of setting it to ‘Manually Later’, I wouldn’t get an authentication error.  I wondered if this is due to the fact that there is an authentication window during the wizard to enter credentials if you schedule it for anything other than ‘Manually Later’.

2) After performing the backups, I kept getting a password prompt when trying to view them with Acronis disk explorer driver.

I found out, with the help of JJ from Kobridge.com with this post:

Basically, what worked for me was uninstalling the Acronis Disk Explorer driver from Device Manager and launching the Enterprise setup again and selecting “Repair”.  It reinstalled the driver and I tested the backup image and indeed it worked. =)  Thanks goes to JJ for that!

So, after 5 hours, I have all the agents reconfigured, and happily scheduled along with new images and the management console is running smoothly.

Hopefully this helps someone if they run into this.
